The Digital Team at Top Employers Institute is responsible for the development and support of the digital platforms which includes WordPress, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud (Portal), Pardot and CRM Analytics. These digital platforms support the core business processes for Marketing, Sales, Operations (Certifications) and Finance, and provide our clients with company information, access to the survey, analytical insights, best practices and marketing activation tools.

 

Purpose and contribution to company strategy

The Digital Team is looking for a Senior Web Developer. In this role you are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our web technology stack and setting up our web development capability. You report to the Digital Director and work closely with the Salesforce Architect and other members of the Digital scrum team, a fun team with skilled people from various nationalities based in our headquarters in Amsterdam.

  • Designs and develops solutions on WordPress using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and PHP
  • Works with business stakeholders from the Product and Marketing teams to gather input for new features and improvements
  • Sets up a web development capability within Top Employers Institute, choosing the right mix of internal and external developers, defines processes and selects tools
  • Liaises with the Salesforce Architect and other digital team members on integrations with the other digital and marketing platforms
  • Provides subject matter expertise on front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to Salesforce developers
  • Exchanges knowledge and ideas with other team members

 

Key result areas and main activities

 

Managing the web development process:

  • Designs, develops and maintains (new) features on the WordPress platform
  • Documents, tests and deploys WordPress features
  • Designs, develops and maintains integrations with other applications like Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Manages expectations of business users regarding the development effort and duration of new feature implementations

 

Gain and share knowledge:

  • Stays informed on and shares knowledge about the ins and outs of the WordPress platform, web architecture and web development best practices
  • Pro-actively reaches out to colleagues to understand company goals, delivery processes, business processes, existing implementations, etc.
  • Hires, trains and coaches junior / medior web developers

 

Qualification Criteria

  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with working in an international organization
  • Experience with managing and coaching team members
  • 5+ years experience with hands-on PHP development
  • Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, MySQL
  • Strong understanding of web platforms and technologies (full stack), their limitations and best practices to develop scalable solutions
  • Hands-on experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks such as React or Bootstrap
  • Experience using code versioning, deployment, and server management processes and tools
