Interim Event Manager (Maternity Cover)



Purpose and contribution to company strategy

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Event Manager to join our corporate events team on a maternity cover basis. The role focuses on managing a series of international events scheduled to take place in January and February 2025. This position requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on event production, ensuring consistency across all events and directly producing programs for select locations.

Temporary position from July 2024 – March 2025 (24-32 hours)

Location: Amsterdam with international travel

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

1. Event Alignment and Coordination 

  • Develop comprehensive event guidelines, including design, theme, and branding assets
  • Communicate and deliver these guidelines to local production teams 
  • Ensure all events align with the company's standards and objectives, maintaining a cohesive look and feel 
  • Act as the main point of contact for local teams, providing support and resolving any issues related to event execution 

  

2. Event Production: 

  • Take charge of producing programs for three specific events, managing all aspects from concept to execution
  • Collaborate with agencies, speakers, entertainers, and other program participants to ensure high-quality content and engagement
  • Coordinate logistics, including scheduling, AV requirements, and on-site management 
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of these programs, implementing improvements as needed 

  

3. Budget and Resource Management: 

  • Oversee the event budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality experiences. 
  • Manage resources efficiently, coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams. 

  

4. Travel and On-Site Support: 

  • Travel to event locations as required to provide on-site support and ensure smooth execution 
  • Oversee setup, execution, and breakdown of the events, troubleshooting any issues that arise 

  

5. Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including internal departments, sponsors, and partners. 
  • Maintain strong communication channels to keep all parties informed and engaged. 

   

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event management, preferably with international event planning.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with budget management and cost control
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
